Gingerbread making hack: instead of using icing to glue the house together use hot glue! It works much better than the icing and holds together better. Although I never actually eat the gingerbread house, but if you just want a gingerbread house for decoration use hot glue.

to get the drippy roof thing perfect, draw ur shape on baking paper and ice the chocolate out of a ziploc bag into the shape, let it cook then use chocolate to glue it to the house - kit kat houses are way better than gingerbread ones so def worth it!

Things you (probably) didn't know:
Every year there is sth. called "Tag der offenen Tür" means "The day of the open door" in my school qnd you can just go there yo do activities or you can make a mini veraion of those gingerbreadhouses and yes it is yours and yes you can eat it (btw. You need to pay for it I am not sure maybe it is like 2€ or 3€ and yes I am german that is why it is euros)

Wish I could do what you're doing and eat it all afterwards.

But can't due to lactose intolerance.

Still, it makes me smile knowing that there are people out there who are able to do what you're doing.

*Please don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise* ❤️

I used to make really amazing looking gingerbread houses for friends. I went out of my way to make sure they tasted good and wrapped them in cellophane. I learned no one would eat them because they would keep them as decoration for too long. I then changed them to make them out of dog or cat treats now. Now if their pets don't get into them early people give them to their pets on Christmas, and they don't just get thrown away. I spent a lot of time at my grandparents home that was next to a very big tourist area that made grand gingerbread houses. I learned to make them from these specialty bakerys. Also they usually were raffled off. I don't know if anyone ate them.
