About the 2 in the Japanese subtitle, it literally translates to 'Echo Night #2, ruler of sleep' which I guess would make the literal title 'Echo Night: Echo Night #2: Ruler of sleep'

I feel like just putting on the guy's coat and lying to him like "HEY BITCH I LIVED" might've been more of a downplayed comic relief, but then again I didn't see the dialogue so I'm not sure. Either way, that's pretty fricken hilarious to me.

Oh the parallel of Eurydice’s maiden voyage and Orpheus’ voyage (from the Greek tragedy of the two lovers trying to get back together after death) while the games aren’t directly connected it’s still nice to see that. The myth and games have a similar story.

This is the second horror game you've reviewed in which a pivotal plot point involves a young girl who was orphaned after a blimp accident; first Rule of Rose, now this.

Japanese devs must *really* hate blimps.

I like how you get the best endings for these games by helping all of the ghosts pass on and by refusing the soul stone causing it to be destroyed.

The writers really made sure to make a good story out of these even with the limitations they had, good on them

Watching this, I was reminded that there is a horror adventure game series called DARK FALL, and much like Echo Night you interact with different ghosts and you try and solve puzzles to help them pass on.

These older games have so much detail and sustenance. These newer games fail to give me this level of "whoa, that's frickin' brilliant".
