Great review! I think I'll wait for the other models. I think the lack of opening options would bother me on this version.

Finally a button open/close without thumb studs or flipper tab. Wish all knives were like this. Kudos Civivi

I’d feel obligated to say “Excuse me while I whip this out” every time I used it

I liked the concept at first but I’m glad to watch your review. Btw a button lock done right is the WMK Kizer Swayback btw thanks for the discount code

I have one and love it. It is very fidget friendly. For me it is the only lefty friendly version of the Elementum. I have no issues with the button lock as the only way to open and close it.

I love the way it opens just not crazy about that line of knives.

Needa thumb stud or a flipper tab to go with the button for sure. Still a sick lookin knife. Another solid review brutha 😁

The elementum button lock will be obsolete once the Altus comes out. Still an interesting knife though. Worth adding to the collection.

While everybody is busy complaining about the lack of alternative deployment methods, these gizmos just keep flying off the shelf. If buzz equals sales, they hit a home run on this thing. I still don’t have one despite several attempts. I may very well join everybody in the complaint caucus immediately after I can actually get one in my hand. And by then I will have already given up my money so exactly who is the smart one in this situation? The jury is out but as a marketing lesson, it’s been hilarious to watch this unfold. So to speak.

I would have bought one if it had a way to open it.

You'd be amazed how fidgity and easy this is to open once you get used to the button lock. It's a very easy way to deploy the knife.

I have a feeling it was just EASIER to make the button a LOCK, rather than having to tune a detent/release ramp(?) on the button. But, like you said, they apparently figured it out quickly enough to release other knives with flipper/thumb deployment. So, maybe it was just laziness....

Great review. I have a thing for red knives which is why I really want this one. I agree with the button lock only issue. When I finally get it, hopefully next week, I’m probably occasionally go for a thumb stud even though it doesn’t have it.

Thank you kind Sir but I think I will wait to see the other two they have coming.

I wanted this knife so bad, until I found out about the button open.
If Civivi ever makes a flipper version with a button lock, I'll be all over it.

Can you tell me more about the new Civivi button locks coming out?

I agree a million percent. As is I really like this knife BUT I would have really LOVED it if it was a regular deploying knife. Plus now I gotta worry about the legality of it too.

I honestly think they used this as a public beta for their button lock design in general without having to figure out the detent with a flipper tab/thumbstuds. Great knife that could’ve been a legendary knife.

I like the looks of the damascus blade and the red and black carbon fiber handle scales, but I'm not sold on the button lock.
