What about state prison? I have a friend who's charge was enhanced from a charge that was dismissed by a local county Judge over 20 years ago. The state of Texas picked it up and he did six years. He is presently in prison on a 20 year sentence for pushing someone and she had a bruise on her hip from hitting the bed post, after finding his wife in bed with his son. He has been incarcerated for 8 yrs now. This is why our prisons are so over populated. Lots of small town racist judges that give long sentences for petty crimes. That was in 2015. These cases need to be re-evaluated.

I hope they get the policing system together, the courts sent all my mail to a house that I couldn't receive mail, then emailed me the Saturday before the Monday to tell me that my license was going to be suspended so instead of emailing me a week or two in advance to tell me this they told me while everything was closed. Again I had no way of receiving my mail the home the mail was going to was foreclosed and there was no mail box so I was not able to receive my mail.

Someone needs to re evaluate old cases because a lot of people are being held for long prison sentences that their crimes are way less severe than the crimes that are being committed today. 20 yrs for a bruise . Yes that's what Texas is allowing. Our system is ridiculous and you guys are doing nothing to reform it . The inmate numbers are growing and crime is getting worse. The answer is not just lock everyone up and throw away the key.
