I really hope Miss America goes back to network TV and to that type of production. This gave state pageant realness. These delegates deserve more.
Also, kudos to the camera guy on stage. He literally carried this production on his back with his camera angles!

Constructive comments in hopes the pageant will succeed: 1) Terrence is likable but he needs to stop trying to pump up the crowd 2) announce the finalists without the cutesy remarks and delays 3) in the topic section, give each contestant a minute to respond rather than 30 seconds 4) get the camera person off the stage … maybe use off-stage cameras or booms 5) the crowd energy does not come across at all … maybe place microphones and cameras at various locations in the auditorium or add a commentator who is located in the crowd somewhere, 5) expand the stage and runway so it is grander.

When Miss America was on network television it was a lot more exciting and suspenseful. This production looked like it was filmed in a high school auditorium! I think they would get a lot more viewers if they went back to television and had celebrity or comedic hosts that are more entertaining. Watching these two hosts was about as exciting as watching paint dry!

This was the worst production I’ve ever seen. Not fair to the contestants. And the hosts were awful.

What used to be such an elegant event. Now its a Low Rent embarrassment. The first crowning I watched was Sept 1970, the legendary Phyllis George was launched to a brilliant career. Ive never missed year since . Now, I feel like packing it in. The vapid deteriation saddens me.

I mean... every year, we always get a great choice, but I've literally never been more impressed with a MAO Teen than I was with Hanley for 2024. She was just so top notch. So poised at all times. So professional - more than even just her age group... Always so elegant. I've literally just never been blown away with a MAO teen like I was with her. You can tell she's had some amazing influences in her life and some solid intentional parenting too. Just a class act in every way.

At 104 years-old, Miss America is trying too hard to be hip! LOL! Hype-man, Terrance J, didn't read the venue, prior to shouting, "Make some noise!" THEN, Nikki Novak's returned fell upon deaf ears. The pageant's attempt for modern relevance appeared painful. Throbbing (antiquated) club beats in the venue seemed to overwhelm the target audience of bourgeoisie, as the panning cameras proved. The show was an auditory and visual war of the classes. I laughed out LOUD for REAL! Shady shady shady camera crew...and I LIVED for it!

I follow the chosen titleholders every year and I have always liked them all, but I feel like I've just never been more impressed with any team of titleholders as I was with those two last year. Crazy enough - neither one of them grew up competing in the system (which I just thought was quite interesting because of how amazingly well they did in seemingly everything that was handed to them.)
