Jacquie what advice do your attorneys have to help people thought the insurance claims process?
Jacquie Palisi: One of the most common problems that people face when dealing with the insurance company after an accident is that the insurance company may try to shift the blame to them.
For example, they may argue the innocent driver was speeding or in the car of a serious slip and fall, they might say you were not simply paying attention.
Insurance companies may use that tactic to offer you a low settlement to they might deny your claim completely.
Shannon Walshe: But sometimes aren't there some other factors or parties responsible for the accident?
Jacquie Palisi: Yes. Many times its not the injured person's fault. In one case, the insurance company tried to argue that our client lost control of their car. Our attorneys proved that the insurance company was wrong and the case resolved for $275,000. In another case, police gave our client a ticket. But our lawyers proved that the accident was in fact caused by someone else. The firm got our client more than a million dollars.
