Reviewing a Time Capsule Technics SL-QD33 turntable

You know I often find the people that extol the virtues of this type of turntable and say things like" they don't make them like they used to", are often the same people who will complain about a modern turntable with a non-adjustable arm.

Well like this turntable doesn't have an adjustable arm, or at least a minimally adjustable arm. I mean it's no different than that modern turntable that you're complaining about, you see what I mean.

Anyway fantastic commentary on a fantastic turntable, I have the same one as well as numerous turntables and it is something of a workhorse compared to some of Technics more elaborate designs of the same era.

I think it is neet to see the provenance and history of things... Receipts... warranty cards... manuals... etc. I am glad to see when people keep those things ... it is amazing.

That is a really beautiful Turntable Adam. I wish mine would do what that one does. When I lift the arm on mine it starts to spin but I have to put the needle down at the start of the record. I like that this one does it automatically.

The repeat basically repeats record plays again again if dont turn it off..

The needle and the record are filthy, please clean them! I have the same turntable.

If *Technics SL-QD33* has a higher SNR and a lower wow and flutter than *FLUANCE RT 82* as an example, and better than alot of today's turntables in those specs, why no one calls it a HiFi or an audiophile turntable ?

by the way, is the stylus that comes with it conical or elliptical ?

I just got one of these and it seems to have a speed issue. 33 is fine but 45 is sometimes way off. And I thought this was supposed to be quartz lock.

Where can I find a replacement needle for this exact turntable? I was gifted one and it has no needle. I have no idea where to look, thank you!

Technics turntable record player vintage very decent turntable I was given a similar model mines Technics SL-B22D it needs a belt maybe a new stylus then i test how good it is....

I just got one today and same here it does not have a needle but it works great repeat all functions work. I wonder how needles cost for this technics SL-QD33 thnx,

My QD33 " STOP/START" indicator always blinks. Can somebody tell me why?
