Ibanez EWP14OPN/Piccolo Guitar

Ibanez is proud to introduce the new Ibanez mini-guitar with Ovangkol top, back and sides. The EWP14OPN features an Ibanez original compact Florentine cut-away as well as a tenor ukulele body and scale length. The higher tuning helps the tension of the strings feel proper, like a normal-sized guitar, and the small body allows for the higher notes to ring out strongly. The combination of these unique features allows the player to explore new and undiscovered sounds. Wish they had this in a guitlele strong config, still E to E tuning but the bottom three nylon would make this so much better.

My only problem with the one I ordered is the sharp fret edges were not filed. It seems such a small thing that really should have been seen to by the maker.

I've noodled around on a guitalele. I'm just not that big of a fan of that ukulele/nylon string feel under my fingers. This might be what I'm looking for. If I got one, I would change out the tuners, nut and saddle. And at the price point for this thing, you could get a second one and flat-tune it (Ab-Db-Gb-B-Eb-Ab).
