Who else wants to hear more adventures of the Commander Yahtzee glorius bloodline

Take my advice and don't play this game at night.

You will horribly regret it at around an hour before sunrise the game goes: "Oh you gotta go to bed, do you? Well, that's a shame... I mean there is this 1-hour deadline smuggling mission with a reward of a million credits which will be gone by tomorrow, but a man DOES need his sleep

Frontier, you goddamn cruel bastards.

Little did we know that that sign would become an incredible book someday

I remember watching this video mid 2015, and then bought the game a few months later when it was on sale and I remembered Yahtzee liked it.

Over 1000 hours later and I'm still going strong. Glory to the Empire.

You stay online because if you trigger something like a big civil war in your solo game, it'll also trigger in the multiplayer world.
That was the explanation I was given.

Hold the phone Yahtzee, I thought we agreed that this game would be called "Elite HUERGH Dangerous"

So is anyone going to mention the fact that there was a sign reading "Will Save the Galaxy for Food" sign before Yahtzee ever started writing his book of the same name?

The "Will save galaxy for food"-sign at 03:05, along with the story about making up stories at 04:13 go suspiciously well together, considering a certain work of literature...

"Well I never said it was a small number." I have not laughed that hard in a while.

3:05 Yahtzee accidentally inspires the title of his own book.

The vibe he describes with Elite is a lot like how a lot of MMO players feel. Outside of the current content (raids, what-have-you) there's just something oddly pleasing about leveling at a lazy pace, taking on repetitive content you've handled before with very little drive. I've probably leveled more WoW characters than I'd ever have a reason to need, but there's nothing quite so oddly comforting on a day when I'm off and my wife's working like putting on a podcast and just mindlessly going at it. It's probably some kind of human hardwiring: the satisfaction of completing a task with virtually none of the agitation of challenge.

TL:DR No man's sky with slightly less color but actually has content.

Yahtzee being positive about a game throughout most of the video!? I never thought I would live to see this day.

The past 8 videos on this channel have been zero punctuation. Yahtzee will soon rule over all.

All things aside, while I enjoy hearing Yahtzee rant about the shortcomings of games that "miss the point", my greatest joy in the ZP episodes still comes from the reviews where he's actually having fun... It gets kinda sad when all you get is someone repeatedly lamenting soul-crushing inadequacies of something that is, in the end, technically designed for enjoyment.

n your point about illegal goods for a mission, you can determine mission type by mission logo. If it has a skull on it, or multiple canisters, it is a smuggling mission. It states in the description that the goods are stolen or lists if your current or destination station finds these items illegal, and lists the fine for them.

Two ways to avoid the fine scan: Hitting "Delete" will close your shields and heat vents and eliminate your heat signature for a time, makingyou almost impossible to spot, and thus, scan. Alternately, purchasing Heat Sink launchers finds you with the same general effect, but for a lesser time and requiring a token fee to restock your limited supply of heat sink pucks. However, on its own it is more 'safe' than Silent Running- you can keep shields enabled if you need to duck into the mailslot if you do get scanned, and take a bump. The two synergize well, though, and you can use Heat Sink launchers to stall the overheating taken in Silent Running if it gets too close to 100%.

17cr to save a possible 50k fine? Profit, baby. Pure profit.

Thank you for referencing the last starfighter, it's one of my favorite books, and the movie's pretty good.

Leaving something to the imagination when done right is in itself a bonus point. If there is enough there to make you want to do it in the first place of course.
