Find out how Quark Expeditions creates new voyages to some of the most remote regions of the world. In Summer 2019, Quark Expeditions sent a small group of guides and regional local experts to the most remote and wild archipelagos in Russia — Severnaya Zemlya. The purpose of this month long exploratory expedition was to collect and build an archive of operational information for our upcoming voyages, High Arctic Odyssey: Remote Russia Archipelagos.

In 1991, Quark Expeditions took the first-ever group of commercial travelers to the North Pole on a transit of the Northeast Passage. In the three decades since that first ground-breaking trip, Quark Expeditions has been at the forefront of polar exploration, taking thousands of travelers on polar expeditions to remote parts of the Arctic and Antarctic, where no one else has set foot.
