Going in, I add a little anti-seize compound to the threads.

I’ve had good luck using a small propane torch. Heating around the bung, using a line wrench to break loose the EGT sensor.

Mine came out exactly as you told me to! I unplugged the sensor, cut it, used some rust penetrant, and then put a socket on her. My 1-1 I had to stop, add some more penetrant, go back and forth and it finally came out. My 1-2 came out fairly easy. My particulate sensor I had to take to a shop as the nut flats rusted clean off. He cut it off and welded over it and then welded a new bung in next to it and she’s good. He removed the axle back exhaust to do that and two of those bolts rusted out so he had to replace them but she’s back on the road. I didn’t have a welder so needed to have a shop hook it up for me. Then high temp sensor-safe anti-Seize on the threads.

Easy man. Use an air hammer with regulator to limit the power. Use it against the bung while turning the sensor with a wrench. It works every time. Same theory we use to remove ball joint and tie rod studs.

Use an induction heater on the dam thing!!!

I have a extra thick snap on line wrench I use.

Use a torch, make it glowing hot, sometimes takes 2-3 seperate heats to get it to free up

I do keep new bungs on the shelf for them stubborn ones at my shop. Saves a lot of down time

Def cut and used a socket. But a little heat don’t hurt either.

Soak it with a 50:50 mixture of ATF and acetone over night then get in there and slowly wrench one way then slowly back the other way till you see the threads move. Apply some Arctic freeze spray to plug to contract it down, spray more mixture down on threads then try wrenching again. Acetone has a flash point so keep away from hot metal. It does evaporate off quickly.

Rattle the bung with a flat tip air hammer while applying light pressure to a wrench on the egt nut. Works every time. All the threads will still be good.

Not sure on the ford's but I've learned on the semi trucks that it's best to try to pull them sensors with exhaust cold, if it don't come out then heat the bung, trying to remove them when the sensors hot seems to trash the threads more often, also you can put a hose clamp tight around your split socket for those sensors and it helps the socket not spread open as bad, but if that don't work cutting off the sensor and using a 6 point socket is your only hope

Adding antiseize on the reinstall for 1.

Same as you do. If the bung snaps off, O'Reillys sells them pretty reasonable.

I usually fix mine by just removing the whole dpf assembly and leaving it in the garage

I had this issue last week on my fleets kenworth. No amount of heat could get it off. I welded multiple nuts to it and it would break off more chunks. I ended up using a hole saw and welding a new bung onto the dpf

My heat sensor port was destroyed. Dropped it and created/welded a new port

With anything on the exhaust or spark plugs, I squirt a good bunch of Marvel Mystery Oil, or the 3in1 that comes in the tin on it, run the vehicle till it gets hot, squirt it again and come back in an hour. Never had anything stay stuck doing that. For whatever reason the MMO and the 3un1 always find their way in deep into the threads.

On my 2012 I cut them like you do heat the nut of the sensor a little bit and let it cool off naturally and work it back with some Kroil spray being careful not to let it run down into the DPF and they usually come out decent. If you've never tried that penetrating spray dude you would really like it

In addition to the heat or maybe even before the heat try to initiate some shock with an air hammer even if you get a make a specialize tool to get up there.
