The FREE New Gran Turismo Reminds Me Of Something...

Gran Turismo 7 is up to something... I'm trying to figure out what!

I've always found Gran Turismo to already be the easiest of the racing games to understand. No goofy story, it tells you what each part setting does so you actually learn how to tune, and it teaches you how to drive with the license center. Games like Forza are adhd chaotic arcade messes to me. Just all over the place with story and game gimmicks.

Polyphony gives us 3 to 5 cars 10 times a year every year almost since launch. It has not slowed down. We didn’t get an update in September because they were doing their live event thing which they do every year.

The original Gran Turismo was the reason I bought the first Playstation in 1998. After months of reading about this car game coming from Japan on to this new SONY console, in the gaming magazines in WH Smiths. Ahh, those were the days.

As for DriveClub, was just playing it before coming on YouTube. Doing some Time Trials on the DriveClub bikes.

I think this is something polyphony does that a lot! ( GT1, demo GT2, GT2, demo GT2.5, GT3, demo GT4, GT4, demo GT5 but on psp, demo GT5, GT5, GT6, GTsport which is somewhat of a demo for GT7, and finally GT7) now what I think about is, this My first GT, game is either just a free demo without major changes. Or, has some features that might indicate what GT8 could have. That’s what I think.

I think there was something even more resembling the free version of GT, than driveclub.
There was a free version of forza motorsport 6 back in the day, called forza apex.
This was the ultimate entry for the PC platform and forza.
Also GT7 on a gamepad is not rough at all.
GT ALWAYS favoured wheels for their games, but the number of people who used them was very small compared to the general sales.
Gran Turismo will probably stay the only game, where the developers will make sure that you can have a (at the minimum) equally awesome experience with both gamepads and wheels, while playing a simulation related game. It always was that level of accessible and it still is.

This also reminds me of Forza Apex, a slimmed down Forza Motorsport 6 that was free on PC as an introduction to the FM franchise.

This might change everything. Because this as a demo for GT7 it could mean a larger release of content throughout its lifetime. It could be big.

Gah, yes, DriveClub was incredible. I don't think i've every played a car game as intensely as I played that. Buying every DLC upon release so I could keep going with fresh content. Wish they'd bring that back.

I bought Driveclub after playing the PSplus version, prior to that I "played" the game at a store but it didn't click while trying it out for like 10 minutes, but the more and more I played focused at home I got to feel what the game was all about and I loved it.

Although GT7 might not be great on the gamepad, it's by far the best racing game to play on a gamepad compared to previous GT games and other simcades.

I'd like to somehow keep my hopes up and believe that GT is going to have one of the biggest updates we've seen alongside the free version coming out. It can only excuse the lack of updates we've gotten

I have a feeling this ‘free version’ will be something along the lines of you can play races and such but there are only a few races every few hours or even day. I’m not sure the moment I hear ‘demo of GT7’ I’m just confused
