I’m still in high school, and I’m currently planning to pursue a career in fire and rescue. I’m already a volunteer for the fire department, and figured this would be the best paying role for someone my age looking to get in a career field involving this. I start my course sometime next week, and I’ve reserved a lane so I could practice. I think this video might’ve just saved me a little!

I retake mine tomorrow, and Omg this was so hard….like I got so tired after my third lap and I workout so much!!! I think it’s really about telling yourself you can do it, just push thru.

It can also help to wear goggles if your allowed so you can always see where your going. It seems like it wouldn’t help a lot but it can make a difference. You want an edge anywhere you can get!

Just keep practicing, there will be a point where you unlock the ability to swim a long distance.
I am not joking, I was shit at first, but after two weeks of practicing, I went from being able to do 5 laps to 22 laps in a single day lol. Don't give up.
Mine is 22 so y'all lucky to only have to do 12. Its not much.

I start my course tomorrow. I already work in at a pool so my supervisor timed me and I got the 400m in 10:10 when he had to be under 10 seconds lol. I think I can do it
Edit: I passed and got a time of 8:47

I haven't been swimming in a while and I couldn't swim that much I don't really have a pool to practice and I felt so embarrassed. They're gonna let me try again but my question is how can I work my body up to swim farther without a pool? Are there any dry land workouts you recommend? Ive been doing pushups and core workouts and for the swimming part mine is 6 laps. But I'm nervous because the first time I couldn't swim that far what should I do? *I'm using my dad's account*
