The Blessing of Abraham | What is the Meaning?

God (Yahweh) uses symbolism in the Bible to give human beings a glimpse of the future. The blessing of Abraham had a short term and long term significance. This devotion tries to shed light to the significance of this blessing to all humanity.
The blessing of Abraham has temporal (time) dimension i.e. here in this dispensation and an eternal dimension. The eternal dimension is through salvation through Jesus Christ. The time dimension includes material wealth and well being, which Abraham also received. There are some people who only look at material wealth as "blessings". The greatest blessing is eternal life through Jesus Christ according to Yahweh's plan of salvation.
This devotion traces the blessing Abraham from Genesis in the Old Testament to Galatians in the New Testament.

I've been trying to prove that the blessing of Abram is not silver and gold, but rather the righteousness in Christ for those who believe. Abram left Haran with possessions and servants. He and Lot had to sperate, because the land could not sustain them. Think on this. Lot was rich as well; I haven't found anywhere in the bible where God said to Lot, I will bless with silver or gold. But Lot is referred to as righteous, bolstering righteousness! Your lesson certainly helps. Thank you.
