I've been looking for a better storage solution in my Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Duramax to better accommodate my dog, my tools and camping needs. I hope this video shows you the benefits of a platform in your crew-cab truck and why I chose to build it this way. I plan to do an updated video on how I build it and some things I might have done differently. If you have any questions on suggestions please leave them in the comment section below!

Hey Guys! I really hope you enjoyed this video. If you liked it, please give it a thumbs up and think about hitting that subscribe button. Comment below what you thought, and give me some suggestions for future videos.

Love the setup. I highly recommend looking into the Packout rolling coffin, it fits so much. Fits perfectly in the back of mine and you could put a platform on top that locks into the Packout.

I had a window busted out and a bag of tools taken before!! It was $1000 loss. 350 window and tools. So this is a very real concern! Great video, thanks man

Thats pretty awesome. Great job!!!
My add would be.... Instead of glueing and screwing. Use hinges. So you could pull out quick....lol.... Then the platform would fold and could be placed in the bed. Since you cleared the wood and all (for protection from the elements for a night or two at a time).
This way you could use the whole back. Or half, depending how you broke it down.
Just a thought

Love it! I was looking for a camping idea for my daily driver and this might work for me. Awesome dog too - blue healers have tons of energy to burn!

Found your channel looking for Firestone Destination Reviews. Thanks for that by the way. This is a pretty neat idea. Might have to try it. Like the hat by the way, I have a grey one. Thanks from Saskatchewan!

I like your video man. Trying to figure out what I need to do for my work truck. Just build a tool box for under that flatbed. Just find the metal myself and what cheaper that way.

Thanks. Good idea. What is up with coffee maker? What kind is it? That seams to be the critical component. :)

I just got a 2024 Chevy 250 with a 60/40 split rear seat.
I have 2 dogs that travel w/me, but they travel in a crate. I wanted to build a platform just for the 60 part of the seat and leave 40 part in the down position. The crate will fit perfect on a platform wear the 60 will be folded up.
I wasn't able to see what you used for legs or how you bolted the legs the the floor of the truck?
Of course my platform's height will have to accommodate the height of the crate so I know the legs will be shorter.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

I’d just go ahead and slap a shell on the bed. Get a sliding cargo system like Decked or similar. 👍🏻

I would get the dog seat to ride lower. You never know in case of a sudden stop, accident, just saying ...

remove the seats you will have more space👀

I totally disagree. No such thing as too much coffee.
