Stratoni Beach | Chalcidice

A seaside settlement with a great historical background, located in the Ierissos bay, characterized as a landmark of internal mining activity. This is how Stratoni is connected to Greek culture with mining activity playing the most important role of regions’ evolution. The first inhabitants came from the mining village “Balia-Madem” of Ellispontos after the Asia Minor disaster on 1922. Whereas it was founded in the late 19th century, it was preexisted in the current spot of modern Stratoniki according to 1962 excavations held in the region.
