As a little kid in Madrid I used to memorize the metro lines, now I'm a 38 years old who remembers the moment when line 1 just reached to Portazgo and thanks to your video I realized that I was 10 years old when it extended <3

Madrids system really is incredible. They built so many lines for astoundingly little money. Too bad they also built so many urban highways .

Line 10 surrounded the Príncipe Pío station (Estación del Norte) without stopping from 1961 until it was built in 1996 together with line 6. You can still see the tunnel of the old bypass near the Lago and Plaza de España stations.
