Rees-Dart Track | Tramping (Hiking) Video Series | New Zealand

The Rees-Dart Track is known as classic Kiwi multi-day tramp in the Mt Aspiring National Park. I did this trek with a friend 35 years ago, when Haley's Comet was in the southern skies.. It was mid April and some snow ..we had the whole place to our selves then .. it was before rangers and fees ..The road from Queenstown to Glenorchy was a ruff gravel road in .. The land was cheap then, and it was still a beautiful secret place then ..before Lord of the Rings which changed all that.. It was a magical walk up the Rees then up to Dart Glacier .. It was still a big white massive glacier then .. The walk back through the Dart forest track was truly magic.. It was our very first trek .. and had many more in the South Island since.

Done this.. amazing!!! I am speechless... my top 1 tramp by far.. done it in 5 days with cascade saddle route up to pylon summit

Fantastic video. I love looking at this and remembering my trip from 5 or 6 years ago. Highly recommend this tramp - it's tough going but well worth it!
