The car looks really stunning after Topaz have worked their magic on it. This era of VW styling was really their best; simple elegant designs that looked good. Some may call them boring but at least its miles better than the designs they're putting out nowadays with the new Passat and Tiguan. Great video and good luck with the auction!

The Africa to London video was amazing. I won't lie I was a bit jealous of you and Patrick because I have a dream of doing an endurance roadtrip myself of about 1000+ kilometres. The video ignited that spark even more. I don't have a car yet but I know I'll tick that off my bucket list one day. I'll definitely film it too 😄

What a transformation from Topaz!
As you point out perhaps you’d have got a few extra miles out of it had you had it detailed first? I was fortunate enough to hear from a WW2 spitfire pilot, he advised he wanted their plane as polished as much as possible to eek a few extra mph as every bit helped in the fight!!
And what a way to end a great story! And for a great charity!!

Those Passats have a special place in my heart, particularly the diesel wagons, which were just fantastic touring cars with exceptional range. I frequently drove one from the Gold Coast to Cairns once a month in Australia, which was a 4, 000km return journey. The damn thing averaged around 1300km on a tank!!! Marvellous torque, heaps of space and very comfortable. VW never did better. Immense respect for those things.
