I think it's an instant classic because it has a basic premise. A boy who wants to believe but has his doubts, and then at the end, his heart is open to understanding the spirit of Christmas. It's not really about believing in Santa, it's about believing in the impossible.

Is anyone else watching this movie before Christmas 🎄or on Christmas 2022 and beyond? I am. My favorite Christmas movie in the entire world. Even 18 years later. ❤️🌹 Excellent actors and movie. From the animation to the different voices, GIFTED. Unbelievably BREATH TAKING.

For anyone wondering why Tom hanks played most of the adults in this movie:

The reason is is because the boy is all of them, the conductor is the older boy and wants him to believe which is why he is so worried about getting there on time, and the hobo represents doubt, and if the boy never got on the train or never got there on time, and how the hobo tricks the boy into having doubt, this is also why we see the hobo disappear at the end of the movie because the boy’s doubt has gone away or he has believed and his fate to turn into the hobo is gone, also the conductor and the hobo have the same color eyes and jawline. It shows that the boy could be anyone of them.

This is probably not true and could just be because he wanted to play the characters, but I think it ties into the story pretty well
