My dad and I are HUGE Arizona basketball fans, and I have to say that Lauri Markkanen was easily one of the most slept on players in the NCAA this year. He's very tough on the inside and can play a very physical game, but he's got an amazing post game as well. He's a rebounding machine, AND he can space the floor and shoot the 3 as well as most guards. Would've been great to see him paired up with KAT in Minnesota, but he will without a doubt be an impact player for the bulls. BEAR DOWN and good luck in the NBA Lauri, we're gonna miss you in the Red and Blue!!

This guy's bodyframe is better than Kristaps', his potential is huge. From what I've seen, he even shoots better than Kristaps coming into the league. He also dominated national championships last 2 years.

When he was drafted by my Bulls I jumped up ran outside an told Chicago that the Bulls finally did something right!!!!This young brother is special, now he isn't our savior but he's a nice piece to our return.... Please NBA sleep on him in 2 years he'll be doing big things

Whatever you say about his lack of defensive skills I must say that he has potential in terms of improving his weaknesses. He's a smart, analytical player who pays attention to his progress in long term. Playing in Arizona was all about improving defense and getting ready for the draft. I'd argue that Finns often develop slower than North Americans so you can expect him to be physically at the peak in terms of athleticism and strength in 2-3 years. His defense will improve as he gets more muscle and good coaching. I wouldn't be surprised if you start hearing about his work ethic above all others.

Well he does surely help address one thing that was a necessity for the Bulls going forward (SHOOTING!) The big concern I have with Markennan is how long it takes him to get used to the physical play on the boards & defensive end in the NBA that it doesn't take too long for him to get used to it because Lauri is clearly someone the Bulls will need to emerge if this rebuild is going to be successful years from now! The most reassuring thing about the physical aspect is that Lauri will grow more into his body since he is only 20, he has built his body pretty well from what it was before he came to the US, and it's not like we're requiring him to be the face of the franchise off the get go like how the Lakers are doing with Lonzo Ball.
