One thing to point out was how you mounted your telephoto lens to the tripod. The use of the collar is so very important to keep the camera and lens balanced. Mounting the camera with a long lens at the body can result in unwanted drift from the weight of the lens. Yeah, I experienced this before using a collar mount.

Nice video. A few other tips:
- manually focus (to infinity)
- remove filters
- use a lens hood
- use electronic (rather than manual) shutter
- for best clarity, shoot when the moon is high in the sky
- Shoot on a cool, clear night
- shoot from a 'dark sky' location ... if possible.

Those Nikon super zoom bridge cameras are a treat for those outrageously far shots. I still bring one of those for roadtripping, certainly a lot more affordable than trying to buy full frame or apsc lenses in the 800mm or longer range. Think the one I have goes up to 2000mm equivalent, probably not the best image quality but came in handy a couple times at safari parks too.

She was outstanding with her work I've done a lot of moonshots and sometimes it shouldn't miss even when I'm using what is prescribed for shooting. My latest adventures with the Cameron 150 to 600 with a 2X converter got some great shots and crazy f-stops

Set your aperture to f11 then set you ISO to 200 and shutter to 1/200 sec works every time
I use a SONY A6000 body and a Soligor 400mm manual focus lens with a Vello Minolta MC/ MD Adaptor with the crop sensor it gives a focal length of 600mm

HI. Enjoyed your video. Now how about shooting the next Solar and Lunar eclipses. Also how about taking pictures of the Sun with the right filters. Thanks. I like this camera and the SOny Brand. You have anything similar by Panasonic? Thanks much.

Thanks for this tutorial. I have been trying to shoot a full moon and failing miserably. I just can't get the right settings. I will try your instructions and hopefully, I will get the detail that I have been longing for. Thanks again for this wonderful lesson.
