Accessible theory. Thanks for all the work you put into this - and all your lessons.

This week for the umpteenth time I revisited your Make Scales Sound Awesome: 10 Tips on Soloing. At the risk of hyperbole it is THE BEST GUITAR VIDEO IN YOUTUBE HISTORY. I even turned into a PowerPoint chart printed out to reference when I need some Adrianspiration.
The gift that keeps on giving.

That guitar tone is great. Thanks for talking us through the theory, but making it so musical.

Awesome riff. Has a bit of “Santana Soul” to it.
Love it!

Oh I forgot to mention if you do mixolydian this is the first note of line 1 X
The Dorian falls right in the middle of the 3 X shapes
Also this is what most jazz musicians of past used to look for placement of scale using the 3 X's
What I also like is that on line 2 and 3 X you can go back one fret on first finger just like a g and c shape
Which can turn X to Y shape and you know tha Z is next inline
Once learned and spent a couple of hours on job done

Adrian - why don't you think of the scale as a F major with the emphasis on the G? Isn't this a simpler way to look at it?

So it would be safe to say that the major 6th note is more relative over the G minor rather than it being the 3rd in the C major chord?

I use that stuff often ; i just did'nt know it was called dorian !!

I just think of G Dorian a an F major scale starting on the 2nd degree (G). For me that's easier. Different strokes....
