I like that now each side of that track faces a different direction, that way you can pick between the original forwards experience and the newer backwards one.

It wasn’t always backwards. It used to face forward and was called Superman: The Escape

I rode the ride when it first opened and it would go forward not backward. Backward was reserved for special occasions and the track was painted grey. It sounded the same though!

Great ride, but the worst thing about it is the deafening sound of you are anywhere near it, especially underneath.

When it first opened it was the equal fastest roller coaster in the world. The other was the similar Tower of Terror 2 in Australia, which opened 2 months earlier.

I rode it when it first opened in ‘97 and it used to go forward, it also went almost all the way to the top.

It’s sad but currently it’s opening less and less now. We asked some people who worked there why and it’s because just one launch takes up 50% of the parks power at a time and it has only been open about 3 times in the since march I’ve heard
