More Arkansans driving with expired tags

More and more people are driving around with expired temporary tags, which is illegal— in Little Rock, 11% of tickets issued last month were for expired tags.

The sales tax on a USED car in Arkansas is ridiculous. Cost me about $2400 to get my tags. With all the cars I see with expired temp tags, I kinda wish I’d kept my money till I got stopped!

The main reason they get away with it for so long is that cops have gotten lazy. They rely on the new auto plate readers in some of their cars and they can't read the temp tags.

Maybe they shouldn't make it impossible for many people to complete the action online. Just tried again and you have to pay taxes or prove that you don't owe. So you have to call or go in, literally the most ineffective and inefficient system I have used for dmv.

Maybe, just maybe Arkansas shouldn't make sells tax sooo expensive for PRE OWNED cars. Hell I've got expired tags on a car I got in July but I'm still saving up for the sell tax. With inflation and my income not going up (thanks Oaklawn) I don't see how I'm able to pay ~$1, 800 for a ~$30, 000 PRE OWNED car. Guess I'll just get screwed by the state 🤷‍♂️
