5 Gbody Junkyard Finds. So, in this video I lump all 5 of the gbodys that were in the yard. First off is a 4 door OLDS Cutlass Supreme that i had already thrown in one of my past #cuttingroomfloor videos. Then it was on to not one, not two, but three El Caminos. Ok so technically I think they were still an A-body but I see them as a Gbody. And finally we roll up on an 87 Buick regal that actually had a posi rear end, albeit justva 7.5 but still a posi nonetheless. Oh yea and i scored on some tool goodies as well. Cheapies but still.

I've always liked the wire wheel covers on these & other Buicks in the 80's.

Love the G Bodies. The Regals and Cutlasses during the eighties were very classy, nice looking and driving. I still have my parents 80 Cutlass Supreme with 38K on it that they purchased new. I also had a 78 and a 79 Regal that I purchased new, but no longer have. A great era for cars.

Whoa Nelley, could be Cutting Room Floor and it's G bodies galore:

1985 Cutlass four door, we got the VIN, we win: 1G3 for US made Oldsmobile, GM69 for four door Cutlass Supreme Brougham, Y for 307 V8 with four barrel, RPO "LV2", 9 is a check digit, F for the 1985 model year, R for Arlington, TX assembly and the rest is the production sequence. Got the SPID, glad you did, ARL for Arlington, TX assembly, C60 for AC, AU3 for power locks, A31 for power windows, MV9 for three speed/non-OD THM200 transmission, LV2 for 307 V8, N33 for tilt wheel, 27I for Regal Blue interior trim, 25L for Bright Blue Metallic exterior paint, NA5 for standard Federal emissions, etc.

'80 El Camino, no tag, can't brag, no VIN, can't win. I got it figured out, no doubt: 1 for Chevrolet, W for El Camino, 80 for pick up/delivery body style, K for 229 V6 with two barrel, A for 1980 model year, then the assembly plant code which were numerous in 1980 and the rest is the production sequence. Possible code 10 or 11 white exterior paint.

2nd El Camino, no VIN, we do not win. No tag, we cannot brag. See above for VIN possibilities.

3rd El Camino, we got the VIN, we win: 1 for Chevrolet, W for El Camino, 80 for pick up and delivery, H for 305 V8 with four barrel, 9 for 1979 model year, K for Leeds, MO assembly and the rest is the production sequence.

1987 Regal, yes that headliner was replaced. We got the VIN, we win: 1G4 for US made Buick, GM11 for Regal Limited two door, Y for 307 V8 with four barrel, aka RPO "LV2", 4 is a check digit, H for the 1987 model year, P for Pontiac, MI assembly and the rest is the production sequence. You got the SPID, glad you did: AU3 for power locks, CD4 for delay wipers, PON for Pontiac, MI assembly, GU4 for for 3:08:1 rear axle ratio, G80 for posi rear end, original exterior paint color is White, code #11, aka WA3967.

Whoa Nelley, it's the land of "G", and that works for me. We got ELCs, Regals and Cutlass Supremes, you know what I mean? In rust, we do not trust. The VIN gets us the win, and when you get the SPID, I'm glad you did. When you don't get the tag, the Google Man is sad. For these, that's it, time to quit. Going to be flat and that's that. Please don't get squished, we'll all be very, very, very pissed.

That white Regal was a really, really nice car at one time. It has the optional Prima velour seats (only available on the highest trim GM models) and the fancy luxury door pull handles, like what you would find on a Park Avenue or a De Ville. It pains me to see it in ruins. What I wouldn't give to have one new. I'm old enough to have driven optioned-out new G-bodies in the '80s. It's no wonder they were so popular.
The only Achilles heel with the Regals was that many of them were under-powered with the normally aspirated 3.8.

Back east, that white Regal would have lost its rockers and lower quarters and possibly floors due to rust. I'd consider that white Regal to be a solid car. But it's strange to see rust so high on the sail panel. Did it have a vinyl top?

The two regal Grand Nationals I got are white just like that. In New Mexico you'll find cars with no rust.

Did you get any video of that Caddy you can see at the right at 1:33 opposite the first El Camino? I see orange fading to purple paint on it, makes me wonder what's going on there.

I think those script valve covers from the third one are older, 60s, I probably would have nabbed those.

Date code on the tires is 1319, 13th week 2019. I just took 1994 tires off my 1994 van (!) so I was reading up on the codes. For $21 or whatever they get for a rim now that's not a bad deal, 14 inch or not.

Power locks but crank windows is goofy. I think the 77 LeSabre I looked at here is like that.

I see an 80s Cavalier opposite the Regal, never see those up here anymore. A cutting room floor car though. lol

That 7.5 rear is still money bro I so what it has 3.08 gears thats a real good gear ratio and you can swap on ring and pinion for higher gear. But the 3.08 gear an excellent ratio If I were there i would've been pullin it out
