How to Organise a Hackathon? (Part 1/2)

In 2018, the theme of the global Aegon Hackathon is Wealth + Health: Disrupting the model. The Hackathon started with a virtual challenge on the Be-novative platform that encouraged everyone, including partners and university students to think about how developments in digital transformation (e.g. robotics, IoT, data intelligence, artificial intelligence, blockchain) and society (e.g. individualization, transparency, consolidation) influence customers’ financial and physical well-being. Participants could come up with disruptive ideas, go through a community evaluation and submit elaborated project plans and experts selected the winning teams to get an invite. The Hackathon challenged the selected best teams to transform their ideas into disruptive clickable prototypes and validated business solutions through Design Thinking sprints in 24 hours.
