After market oil pan needed, solenoid replacement! Cheaper with aftermarket oil pan, typical service each time, around $300, works a treat every time! I do mine every 10-15k ZF 6 speed is the way to go!

Its not uncommon for motor companies saying you dont need to service there stuff for life, life could mean after the warranty period, they do this to score greenie points its seen as more environmentaly freindly, it is however a sales gimmick for unsuspecting motorist . Ask any transmission shop and they'll tell you, they make lots of money from rebuilding apparently long life transmissions, If you don't have $3000 to pay at around 140-200ks spend $250 every 60000ks and replace the trans oil . Cab drivers get a million ks because they do very regular servicing. All the best.

I have owned 3 high ks Territorys. One 4s and two 6s. Just like any vehicles, it is all about servicing and maintenance as required. If you buy a high ks neglected cheap vehicle, you are in for troubles. No matter what the brand.

Check speed sensors input and output and metal filings on the magnetic solenoids gunked up, poor servicing will cause it.

Did u end up fixing it and if so what was it

I think you should open your transmition pan and replace oil and filter and before that check all solenoid resistance and all solenoid from S1 to S6 should have resistance 23-45 Ohms if they are good. Most important solenoid in automatic is S5 which is more expensive than another with resistance 3.8-6.2 Ohms and this solenoid control shifting and preasure in transmition. This information is for automatic BTR 85/91/93/95/97 LE.This is always happened, because oil in trasmition is not services regulary and solenoids get blocked from dirt and contamination.Installing external trasmition coller is very important in all ford, because common problem is build by factory trasmition pipe is in radiator and mixing colant and transmition oil is common problem which can damage trasmition.

Did you confirm and fix the issue? The exact same thing happens to my territory. Done 2 fluid changes as the wrong oil was used in a prior service. Gearbox performance improved alot but I still get this fault.

Connector at the gearbox sometimes not pushed in full way and loses connection if not put back properly. Done a oil change and never pushed connector fully in when changed Orings

Hey there, Ive got a 2006 bf xr6. whenever i go into performance mode (tiptronic) nothing happens and nothing comes up on the dash cluster that Ive moved into performance mode. Do you know what could be causing this? cheers

Hi am having the same problem is there anything you can tell

Is that the first time it got serviced 134000k, if so that's too late, needs to be done 60-80k for reliability. The magnet in pan can only hold so much debris, solenoids and speed sensors usually cop it.

I have a ford territory ghia awd 06 model, and the speedo stops working when driving. When this happens the cruise control stops working. Have you experienced this before?

My BF flashes in all gear selections but if you flick the selector to the left it shows 3rd gear .
Looks like a solenoid or complete solenoids replacements and filter kit

Hello, I have a 2004 Ford Territory, 4 speed, I believe. I was driving my friends 2006 Ford Territory Turbo, 6 speed and it was going smoothly without choking on the upper km per hour. So I was wandering is it the 6 speed which does this or the turbo? And if it is either, is it possible to swap my 4 speed our for a 6 speed and/or to get the turbo onto my 2004 Ford Territory? Thanks!

My zf 6 speed territory turbo will stop driving and won’t change gears I have to wait 20 mins then start car again and it will drive fine then stop again like it goes into neautral

My 2006 ford territory is doing the same thing and leaking transmission fluid everywhere 😮

Ratio error is because the solenoid isnt fully engaged and that clutch is slipping enough to throw an error.

Oil change gearbox every 10, 000kms and swap out your solenoids for new 1s...

You can clean out the old ones and then check the resistance on each and reuse them if theyre still good...
