Hey Nathan, if you use the fade in vocal fx with the big reverb, try to reverse the vocals you use first then bounce with fx and then reverse it again. This way you pick up the beginning of the sound of the sample and not the end.

In Studio One you select the exact parts you want the fx to play from and automatically inserts the delay at those point. No sends, no bus, no duplicate tracks. Its pretty amazing...

also holding shift and clicking anywhere in the timeline will play from that point like in sony vegas! just found this out recently much easier than going up to the top of the grid locking in where you wanna start play from to play now you can hold shift and click at any point on the project to play from there

that clicking is exactly the same sound that happens to me but then in fl studio on windows when i get underruns, most of the time it is meaning the audio interface cant keep up, adjusting the buffer size of your audio interface can easily fix this (this is also where you can set a better latency for recording)

I agree completely theres a million ways to do something, I don't know if you have tried but I usually do it in two channels like you did (Real vocal in one and the delay in the second) but instead of using the automation I would cut the delay audio file and leave only the things I want to be repeated and on the plugin use wet only and no dry

I dont know if you fix the clicky sound but you always wants to have the lowest buffer size for recording vocals and monitoring in real time (low input latency. And then increase the buffer size to the max amount so you can have the best audio quality when mastering the track with 0 artifacts.

Well here's the question for me do you process the vocals before ? Do you have the vocalist singing to the microphone then run the vocals through processing before it goes into the computer..
Or do you take the vocalist and the mic record them raw then do vocal processing?
I've been in musician all my life and one of the hardest things that I still don't understand is getting vocals pushed up front into the mix and they have that quietness sound.. it's a one vocal track it's one take but it sounds, completely alone and isolated in the mix it sounds amazing and I don't know if I need to spend millions of dollars to get the sound or if I'm missing some type of using compression or limiters or whatever the hell it is.. but my problem is getting the vocal upfront quiet and sounding clear and isolated in the stereo spectrum I guess I need to go to engineering school.. I don't have computer software I don't have these plug-ins and that's the problem that I'm finding on YouTube is finding somebody who is using computer recording and digital recording but is using basics like eqs, dithers, and the simple basics.. I wish there was a channel that just basically showed hey you have this program well I'll show you how to mix using the plugins that come with the software I use acid pro it seems like a lot of people don't use acid pro they're using other software..

Great tips - by the way the clipping is down to cpu maxing out - probably combination of logic and your recording software maxing out cpu usage. One alternative is to use an external capture device for vids.
