When Gizmo said "Mom love me bird.", I teared up.

That was so cute...

He is so wise. It was time needed... he is cognitively aware in many levels not just mimicking. He is talking

The African Grey parrots are supposed to be the smartest of all parrots. This one is amazing for sure. I would have liked to know the back story of these two souls. They are for sure rescuing each other. It is a beautiful thing to see. ❤❤

He knows what you did for him. You rescued him and gave him a better life, and he's supporting you just like you did him. Thank you for sharing xx

"It was time needed" absolutely was. Some traumas can't be healed by time, but adding love and care into that certainly can make it easier

Well done Mom you have done so well. He's bonded with you. He loves you. The love you put in. I've never seen a Grey with all his feathers. Happy life you two

Gizmo speaks the truth "when this one ends, I want to go, it was time needed" I love Gizmo, he is responsible for my obsession with birds in general now, thank you, Emily and Kyle for sharing him with the world ❤😊❤

What surprises me is the bird sounds serious. She literally is having a conversation with him.😊😊😊

I wept too. Let's face it. Without its mom Gizmo simply would not be Gizmo, a human bird.

Awwww, this is so sweet! I love hearing about life before he found his forever home. Not because I enjoy the bad, but because it shows how much of a difference one relatively small change can make in an animal's life.

He knows what you did for him. His life was a prison cell and the two of you healed each other with love, caring and humor. ❤

I totally know...My cat Bandito saved my sanity after my husband of 38 years was taken off life support- and I had to be the one he trusted to do it ..beforehand we agreed..it didnt make it any easier though.Bandito was a newborn kitten I found thrown out by my mailbox one day and he repaid my love with seeing me through those wrecking days by his loyalty concern and compassion for my constant rears- sleeping by my face and lap sitting..looking intoy eyes with all the care he could..I could not have done it without him!

I love their stories so much. I'll own binge watching when I discovered them last year I think. If you scroll back, gosh, maybe it's nearly 2 years now. But she has photos of Giz when they first rescued him, and they are shocking. It's hard to tell in this video from the quick cage shot.
Shocking because of the state he was in. Poor feathers, very strangely looking like worse than when they molt. And he was thin. He'd only lived in a cage. His owners didn't really let him out.😢

NOW he's healthy, sleek with stunning feathers, and they're still discovering words they didn't know he knew. He's hysterical, sometimes a prophet, sassy with perfect comedic timing. Giz is one of the best rescue glowups I've seen in the feathered community. And it's heartwarming how he helped heal Em's heart.
❤❤❤

Great post! This world needs more of the real like this vulnerable post! Many people will never understand the bond that forms between people and animals. They don't understand why we are upset for weeks after one of them passes or vanishes. When we say they are our kids....we absolutely mean that folks! We understand some people just aren't pet people and we accept that. So please accept that we need the animals in our lives just as much as we need humans.
