I'm a die-hard Giants fan because I'm born and raised in San Francisco, but first and foremost I'm a baseball fan and this news brings tears to my eyes.
While our teams go at it, we as fans may talk crazy smack to each other, but moments like this bring us together and remind us just how special our rivalry is.
To Vin Scully...RIP, fine sir, and wherever you may be, know that today, all of our hearts are blue.

Man, I was doing my own thing tonight. Not even watching the Dodger game. I saw the alert on my phone Vin passed. I went to my car and sat in it, listened to the final few innings as well as the Dodgers post game with all the call ins.

I grew up with hearing Vin's voice. When he retired it was emotional. I keep on and off crying tonight with this loss. For a man I never met. But my entire childhood and adulthood up until his 2016 retirement, my summers were full of hearing that iconic voice. The radio dial was always on the am station that was carrying the Dodgers. It's changed over the years, but still the Angelino in me always followed the voice of Vin.

We lost one of the best tonight, but he had a hell of a life. The history he saw first hand and shared with us. The crack of the bat and the roar of the crowd. But most importantly, the impact of the moment, every single one.

Here in LA we all Love you Vin and forever will. We many who were lucky enough to know your voice will never forget that voice.

Good night, and good evening to you, wherever you may be.

IT'S TIME FOR DODGERS BASEBALL!!!

I've been a Dodger fan for well over 40 years, living in West Virginia. I've never had the pleasure of visiting Dodger Stadium, but, I didn't need to, I had Vin Scully to take me there. Rest ye well oh merry Gentleman.

Sitting on the roof of the house behind mine circa 1975, looking out across the valley towards Los Angeles, listening on a transistor radio to Vin Scully announce a Dodgers game on a fine summer evening.
Hearing my mother tell me about when the Dodgers moved to Los Angeles and brought the greatest announcer ever with them.
Watching the famed Kirk Gibson home run and Vinny's memorable words.
We loved you, Vinny, and we miss you. It is truly the end of an era.
I'd write more but the screen's getting blurry.

Even when the Dodgers were down by 15 runs Scully still made me want to stay tuned. From the Coliseum days to his retirement and all the great moments in between. He was the best.

I have very fond memories of growing up in LA back in the 60s and one of those was listening to Mister Scully and his partner, Jerry Doggett, doing the Dodger games on KFI radio. Thanks Vin. You were and
always will be the best !!!!

Vin Scully is loved and admired by people like me, who consider the Dodgers their rivals, that's the mark of a true class act. RIP and may his memory be eternal.

Vin was my favorite since I was ten years old in Brooklyn. He was amazing and was the Dodgers voice. We loved that he was a lip reader and would tell what was being said during screaming matches between umpire vs manager. “Fertilizer!” Instead of When the Dodgers retreated to the left coast, the only times I saw Vin afterward was when he did World Series games and I enjoyed his work. Especially when my newer favorites, the Mets, played in 1986 series. He was a gem.

Vin Scully was the voice of my childhood! Growing up in Culver City Ca, and a lifelong Dodger Fan, I hurt!! On any Saturday or Sunday afternoon in the summer, the voice of Vin Scully could be heard all over our block while neighbors washed their car, trimmed their hedges and enjoyed DODGER BASEBALL, I was 12 years old, and Vin was like family, I HURT!!
