My understanding is the masteries are not stackable, you may have only one of each from the list of <type> mastery.

Actually, Chris specifically said that once you picked a certain passive from the mastery passives, your choice is removed from those masteries on the tree…
You can take several of those passives if you go to several of the actual mastery points, but not take any of the passives they provide more than once.

i dont believe you can stack the masteries, it sounded to me like once you picked one it was crossed off the list on for the other related clusters

Badger! u can't stack the masteries, instead it'll be locked when u reach another cluster with that same mastery and u can choose from the remaining 5/6 mastery points.

I think you misunderstood the mastery system - you cannot stack the individual options. If you allocate 2% ES regen on ES mastery, that option is greyed out for other ES mastery clusters.

About Solipsism:
Mark_GGG said about ailments, that "ailments are ignored if their duration would be below 300ms" (quoted from an old reddit post, but also used in the wiki as source in the article about ignite). Meaning you only need to stack Int for as long as the ailment duration gets under 300ms to effectively become immune to ailments.

Base duration of Shock and Chill are 2 seconds. Ignite, Brittle, Scorched and Sapped are 4 seconds.
So for immunity against all elemental ailments you'd need at most (4000ms to < 300ms) 94% reduced duration of elemental ailments or 705 int.
For just Shock and Chill you'd need 86% or 645 int.

(These int numbers can be reduced though as there (hopefully still) are other sources of "reduced duration of elemental ailments on you")

With the old Annointed Flesh (20% (15+5) reduced duration of elemental ailments on you) the int requirement is reduced from 705 to 555 for total elemental ailment immunity.

I dont think you stack the masteries, once you select one in one of the wheels it gets highlighted on the other ones of the same type so you know you cannot choose it again

People are sleeping on Solipsism so hard its making my brain hurt. Most life spell casters have 300+ int, that usually is only 500ish ES, now take that 300+ int and turn it into ailment duration reduction and now all spell casters have 50% ailment duration. That is actually insane, especially against bosses that chill/freeze OR ignite like the elder guardians.

Regarding your conclusion that there will not be as much traveling for getting certain nodes. I believe you're right. After hearing Chris's reasoning about the passive skill tree changes, my understanding was that they are aiming for that, so builds doesn't need to bend over backwards to get certain things.

I appriciate that, but its hard to say since that without playing around with it... yeah... Really exciting stuff!!

so from what I thought it was. Is. Once you've chosen a mastery point. You can't pick it again. You'd have to pick another one from the list.

you cant stack them, if you get another fire masstery the option gets crossed out and you have to choose another one

Maybe it's just me, but I can't imagine Lethe Shade being very useful, since DoT damage isn't as much of a threat as most of the ailments that are getting doubled in length, plus any DoT longer than 2s is actually more damaging.

All I could think was, "pray for the PoB developers".
My thoughts go out to them and to Neversink for the changes to dropped stacks of items.
They're the ones who are really holding up Wraeclast
