WHO IS COMMANDER DANTE? | Warhammer 40k Lore

A brief lore about the new Warhammer 40k model Commander Dante. One of the most well known Blood Angels and oldest living loyal Space Marine.

Dante crossing the rubicon did so much more for him than most marines. With him being as old as he was he was starting to slow down but becoming a primaris marine completely reinvigorated him. He now has the mind and skill of a 1600 year old veteran but with a body stronger than ever before. He is the greatest space marine hands down.

Just for clarification, a death mask is a mask that’s a cast of a dead persons face, it doesn’t specifically need to be in the moment of death, Dante’s is but it isn’t a requirement to be a death mask, it can be made anytime postmortem.

Dante was 1500 old in the lore before m42 he is at least 3k years now.

I doubt even the most heretical xenos player hasn’t at least heard of Commander Dante. He is one of if not the greatest Space Marine to ever exist.

He's a touch older than that I belive 1500 years is based off the count with time he was fully inducted not counting the around 50 years it takes to go from neophyte to full blood angel battle brother/captain when when he begins to lead the chapter after the attack that killed off most of the chapter leadership. So tack on another 50 or so years then we can add the 100-200 year's between the earliest in universe dates referring to that 1500 year time frame so if hazard currently in universe he's getting close to 2k years old in the latest point in time that the story was set.

Imagine he dies before the Emperor is attacked but returns from the Warp embraced with the wings of Sanguinius. Rejuvenated and empowered by his Primarch. That would be cool.

I thought it was basically impossible for a first born space marine to receive primaris upgrades because the older they got the more dangerous the procedures got?

Commander dante is only 1500 years old. No older at all. When lysander was trapped in the warp for 2k years he couldnt remember a time dante didnt rule the bloodangels but hes only 1500 years old no older at all.
