McCune Wright Arevalo, LLP, (MWA) is holding a press conference in response to Aearo’s attempted declaration of bankruptcy as 3M, which was acquired by Aearo, faces lawsuits over their defective earplugs. With hundreds of veteran clients allegedly suffering due to defective 3M earplugs, MWA questions whether Aearo's decision to file for bankruptcy comes at a convenient time to avoid justice. I served through 2002-2013 and deployed to Baghdad in 08'-09'. I was denied twice by the VA on my hearing because of not saying that my ears started ringing during combat. I had no problem with my ears before 2003 when I went to Basic Training. Through the years of being a Combat Engineer dealing with demolitions and firearms training, I have lost hearing and have tinnitus. The VA has given me hearing aids that produce a "white noise" to try and soothe the ringing volume. There is no way to turn off the ringing or the headaches I experience on a daily basis. For 3M to try and do this to Service men and women is absolutely disgusting.

I think 3M should be accountable and help all who truly wore the earplugs and were injured. But don't run 3M out of business. That will not help our Country. Try to reach a fair settlement.

3M is also costing the military future Soldiers. I have to sons in the Army and told my other two sons not to join the military. Who knows what other company will do us the same as 3M.

I agree with 3M that 80% of those on the lawsuit are bogus claims. I spent 22 years in the army in artillery. rarely did soldiers wear ear plugs. Most of the time when they wore ear plugs was at the firing range when qualifying with their rifle. If soldiers were honest they would acknowledge this truth. The only ones who will make out are the lawyers.
