In this video, I reveal the biggest secret I’ve ever kept — one that I never shared with my grandmother. My grandmother always told us her dad was a firefighter who tragically passed away from a heart attack at just 35 years old. She even knew the exact street corner where it supposedly happened, a story passed down from her mom. I never questioned it much, although it was odd that no one else in our family had a history of heart disease.

When my grandmother was dying of cancer, her last wish was to be buried next to her dad. But she didn’t know where he was buried. So, I took it upon myself to help and did a lot of research. That’s when I uncovered the shocking truth: her dad didn’t die of a heart attack. Instead, he had abandoned my great-grandmother, moved to LA, remarried, and started a new family. He passed away about 30 years after my grandmother thought he did.

I never told my grandmother the truth. She had lived her whole life believing her father loved her, and her last memories of him were good ones. After he left, she was placed in an orphanage, and I didn’t want to taint those memories in her final days. Now, I’m curious about his other family, but they probably wouldn’t want to know that his marriage to their mom was never valid because he never divorced my great-grandma.
