As your vehicle ages, its suspension components wear out which can cause noise over bumps, poor handling, uneven tire wear, sloppy steering response and poor braking. Thanks to our sponsor CRP and their Rein branded upper mounts, we were able to restore factory performance and feel to our 2004 S60 content car with the help of some OE Sachs rear shocks.

Thanks for the video. Reviewed this before replacing the shocks on my 2009 S60. One suggestion is to show tips for home DIYers. In this case, one tip is to have a 2nd jack handy to lift up on the lower suspension a bit after you loosen the shock, so you have room to remove the shock from below. Thankfully I knew about this in advance and had another jack ready to use. Otherwise, I've used FCPs videos for many of the things I do to my volvo and love how simple and direct most of the repairs can be.

Removed the front struts tonight. Going for the rear shocks in the morning. On a 2005 Volvo S60R. Have BC coilovers going in.

Tip is that some Volvos have the nivomat self leveling shock in the back, and you can tell if your car has the self leveling shock because the rear shock has a ribbed rubber boot on it. And you must replace it with another nivomat shock, or you can buy a nivomat replacement kit from IPD which I think will replace the old nivomat shock with a regular new shock, but it also comes with a new spring to install to make sure the car doesn't sag in the back since the old springs were only designed to be used with the nivomat shock and are too weak to hold the proper height.

The DIY videos by FCP are great, but there is one thing that you guys, I think, should do every time.
In this video after you changed one side it will be nice if you compare the old and new shock with recommendations how often we have to change them. Based on your experience. The same thing with the housing.
My s60 5 speed has 175k. I don't feel any noise or problems with it, but to check them I need to take apartment whole thing. Thanks.

Thank you guys for the awesome DIY videos. Helped me a lot already. I was only wandering if it will take much extra time to also replace the spring coils. Last week i replaced both my front absorbers and springs (using also your videos) and you can realy tell the difference. But shouldn't that be also the same for the rear springs?

Why did you replace the mount? Was it bad? How can I check if the rear mount is bad?
