Hi! Swede here. Yes IKEA food can be pretty bland, specially dependent how far from actual Sweden it is as it seems. Swedish food can be bland but if done right it's really good. Swedish meatballs are supposed to be a mix of salty, tangy(from the pickled cucumbers) and sweet flavors... and some heat from black pepper corn.
