Barbs, this channel has been a source of inspiration and education for me and for so many other folks through the years. What's truly made the journey so special is your passion and character. The care and excitement that you put in to each place you covered is what made each video worth watching just as much as the places themselves. I for one am super excited to see what you have down the pipe for these special, one of a kind future endeavors :)

First of all, huge congratulations for completing the set! This is a milestone that will likely never be repeated again! Most importantly though, thank you, Paul! You've done so much for us all and inspired countless people. The reason we all gravitated towards you is quite simple really - through your genuine thirst for knowledge and understanding, entertaining approach and infectious personality, you gave us all something we wanted but sorely missed. You made geography interesting and fun! I've always loved geography and had a passion for it, but in school I never had a decent geography teacher to build upon that passion of mine and allow me to grow. I think it's safe to say that this applies to most people here too. But you gave us that, you captured our collective curiosity and taught us so much in such an enjoyable way that we didn't even notice we're being taught. You may not have the formal credentials and you may not like it, but you're an incredible teacher!

Come whatever may, we'll be here. I'm excited for your travels and the unique things you find and show for us. The theoretical part is over, now it's time to apply it all in practice. I'm also excited to try and follow in your footsteps afterwards. I've already done so a couple of times. Plus, after each long trip, I feel like you'll need some downtime and eventually, you'll get the itch to do something in the classic GN style from the studio - perhaps a video on an unrecognized country, some administrative divisions, some cultural curiosities or perhaps a "remaster" of some older episodes that never got the full treatment that the later ones did. Whatever it may be, it will be appreciated. Follow your passion, Paul. Know that we'll follow it with you!

Thanks again for all you've done! Cheers from Bulgaria! Feel free to visit us again sometime, yeah ;)

2024 in a nutshell:
Matpat retired
John Cena announced his retirement
Mr. Beast is getting sued
Robert Downey Jr. is back in the MCU
Nikocado Avocado lost all the weight
Diddy is (FINALLY) in jail
Geography now has (for now) officially ended after 10 years.

What a year.

Finally, the answer to the question i've been wondering for 9 years since I was looking at videos for my Azerbaijan project in middle school. Due to both you and that class, I took AP Human Geography in high school, and am working on a Geography or Cape Verdean Studies minor in college. So congrats and good luck to getting to everywhere you want to go! But, you might want to hurry....

or i'll get there first.

Most nations have multiple distinct regions, and some distinct regions are shared by multiple nations. This results in interesting and distinct regions being overlooked, because typically we study nations as a whole instead of particular regions.

Regions like Assam, the Fergana Valley, Outer Manchuria, the Snake River Plain, Socotra, Tasmania, the Pantanal, Cabo Delgado.

Hey Paul.
I think part of the attraction of your channel is your authenticity, even when it's hard.
I, personally, appreciate your drive for discovery. You are a perpetual student. You want to learn about your lineage/history, language, music and all the beautiful wonders our world has.
I feel this is a way to elevate all of us.

I don't have to tell you, we are all feeling a world shift and we tend to face unknown with fear.

Paul, you are facing unknown with curiosity and wonder. We need more of that.

We all need to really think of our own lists of what sparks our joy and curiosity and wonder. We should all take a page out of that part of your playbook and live our best lives, our life purpose... sitting and watching others do it should be inspiration to do our own thing, what ever that or they happen to be.

Thank you Paul for being genuine with yourself and honest with us.

Not sure why some people are saying this is the end. It most certainly is not! The country profiles are done, but now it's phase 2, actually going to those places and showing the geography in person. That sounds like an adventure. I'm all for it. I want to see where you go.

"It's time to go out there and LIVE my research"

That line struck me the hardest because all this time we can learn so much about something, every little detail, every little nook and cranny of information on something, but until we've actually gone out there and LIVED this knowledge, can we really say we've learned anything at all?

Just so you know, Barbs, whatever you do with this channel, we hope that it brings you joy and passion. We hope that it brings meaning into your life and it brings value not just us the viewers, but also you, the content creator. You've gone to great lengths to bring us value, maybe now it's the the time to bring value to yourself too by doing what no one has done before! The journey may be fun too!

Cheers from the Philippines!

I started watching you when my son was an infant. He’s almost 10 now. You got us through many long nights, and as he got older, I stuck around because I loved what you were doing. Thanks Barbs, can’t wait to see what you have to come!
