It’s crazy it took over 100 years for Black Americans to get a federal holiday acknowledging our ancestors and their struggles. Their influences on this country never gets recognized, but the stereotypes created as a result of their freedom way back then unfortunately has survived. Next we need to acknowledge the history of Native and Asian Americans in this “land of equity”.
