Crete | Vori Village

Показать описание
Crete | Vori Village. Vori is an intriguing village in the southern part of Heraklion prefecture, intriguing in that it's one of the few Cretan villages that are official protected areas, meaning that Vori still looks like it did a century or so ago.
The upper part of Vori lies on a slope overlooking the wide sweep of coast to the southwest, while the lower part rests on a small river. There's an ethnological museum for those who want to know how the people lived in the past few hundred years.
To get to Vori from Heraklion, drive along the main southbound highway for about 60 kilometres, turning right at the sign. Or you could take a KTEL rural bus from Mires or Timbaki and change at those small towns.
