Great review. I was ready to buy them, but the blue flare is not my thing.
Unfortunately I am not aware of any other option available at the moment.

All I could find out there was the 1.8 diopter. So I bought that to play with. It is way too powerful for anything other than studying bugs.

As always job well done sir. I JUST got a pair of the SLR achromatic Diopters for a steal on eBay and have since completed the set with the newest +1.8 diopter. Have you noticed blue spheres around super bright lights? I've seen it a few times in my footage and I'm wondering if it could be because the glass elements are defective - not sure let me know what your experience has been. I've got 2x SLR anamorphot + rangefinder and I still need to focus closer. What would you recommend ?

Are these usable on telephoto lenses for regular stills photography, or are they made specially for anamorphic lenses? I've got some vintage manual focus long telephoto lenses, that have ridiculously long minimum focus distances... the +0.33 diopter particularly would be a great help for this, and since they all have 77mm threads, no adapters necessary. Also, why the super-low contrast in your test images above? If you have stills samples, or know of somewhere that has reviewed these anachromats for the purposes I've described, I'd appreciate a pointer. Thanks!

What diopter should I get for the slr magic 1.33x 40 compact?

i want so bad to put this anamorphic adapter 1, 33 to my consumer canon camcorder GF30, .... Andrew the manufacturer of SLR Magic responded it would not work. i tried it with minus dipterous between the anamorph lens and the camcorder lens, which is the only way this ever could work, Andrew said....but i could to make it work.
i wonder if you ever thought about it also to use the anamorph adapter simply on a fun run and gun no hassle quick camcorder?
