17 seconds and she still apologized better than Shane, Jeffrey, and Colleen combined!

The fact that she's a living and breathing person blows my mind everytime i thought she and her songs just spawned into the existence

Compared to Colleen's and Shane's "apology" I'll give this a 7.8

This feels so refreshing, she didn’t bring up a thousand random things as a excuse, just a simple apology

As a 13-14 year old, there is a lot of racist people our age, so I accept her apology. I just hope we learn & grow & one day realize racism shouldn’t be normalized. I seen literal black people, mexicans, etc. being called slurs & they don’t mind. That shouldn’t be acceptable.

It wasn't a 10 minute long ukulele song, it was brief and understandable. She's grown so much.

honestly best apology i heard so far
no "but i didn't mean it" no "yall are so cruel with your cancel culture", quick and simple
she was young she did bad things done, she won't do it anymore

we weren’t angels at that age 🗿so im not blaming her .. What matters now is what she does now after she grew up

as someone who was 13, terrible, and mentally ill, i respect this a lot. a lot of adults can't even be this mature about something like that, so it's admirable to see her owning up to it so fast, without blaming it on her issues either, cuz it is just what she said it is. bad behavior from a child.

As a teen, I feel like we all had the tendency to be as provocative, obnoxious, “rebellious” as possible, so of course saying extremely fucked up shit to get a reaction out of people made us feel like “badasses”, there was nothing more to it. Just teens thinking they’re cool by saying ignorant bullshit.

I feel certain that people will continue to bring it up no matter what she or anyone else says. I feel conflicted about it myself, especially as a POC, though I don't think she ever had ill intent with the things she said. I admittedly put on the hat of willful ignorance and keep listening; I am physically incapable of letting go of her music.

I’m black (African American before someone calls me a racist) and I honestly don’t care about what she has done, I enjoy her music and her personality (most of the time lol)

i was waiting on her to address when she was on live (i was on the live) so so happy for her she went thru growth and realized the weight of her words we were all young and said things out of boredom and for shock value glad she brought is up and im glad she knows much better now (btw this isnt a proper apology but i feel like her career would do good if she never approaches this seriously like alot of ppl dont gaf sad but true)

I mean I’m not a huge fan but what else can you do at this point? Yea it’s bad behavior and she admitted to. I really hope ppl don’t continuously drag her down over and over and over again. She’s not gonna do it again so she’s obviously learned to not do it.

honestly her apology was better than some of the people who’ve previously gotten canceled. instead of avoiding it or bashing people for bringing it up, she actually talked about it and changed as a person. good for her!

I think she's grown and learned as a person. It's nice to see someone be so honest and casual about their past and not scream and cry for being called out on it.

Am black, and I think it's good.
I was an edgy shit at 13. She said its just bad behavior. Yeah it is. She's not 13 no more. She's learned.
