2 years ago I harvested (from a grower about 2 blocks from my house) 50kg of SE sweet corn, in small batches, processed in small batches to keep as much natural sugar from converting to starch. Got the Alpha Amylase in, got a few other enzymes in, and moved it all into a 208L fermenter. Punched it down several times a day, for weeks. Long story short, a mouse knocked the stopper out and I couldn’t find it. There was a bunch of drunk deer throwing bonfire parties down by my creek where I dumped it all. Haven’t had the heart to do an all corn since.

Can I use fresh super sweet corn ? And I don’t have a lot of cash for a top still I have a vevor can you do a video on how to utilize it to its full potential please

I have a 10ltr barrel with some corn liquor in, but I did prep my barrel with some Pino Noir wine. Been sitting for a year so might have to go and test it. :)

Blue barrel? Did you ever get chemical smell of it 😉 Without hdpe insulation inside it is not good. It says it is food grade (yes this barrel may have fork-spoon logo on it) But please change it. This type of barrels for 2% alcohol and ph 6-7 liquid for ONLY one time usage. It smears in to the liquid every usage by x*2. Please, use hdpe (white inside) coated or go on. 😕They designed (generally) for sugars or similar low coastic syrups. Not designed for cleaning with hot water or making again and againg .... and again alcoholic beverages. I'm olive oil producer in another country. We tried thousands of them. After 2 use we send them to recycle. Now transporting with hdpe and stainless steel 200 litre ones.

Been trying like crazy, but the those particular barrels are hard to come by. By the time I get the notification E-mail they are back in stock and get to my computer, they are sold out again within an hour. This has happened over an at best. I just keep making white dog and storing jars in wait for a barrel or two, someday.

I don’t think I’ll be doing my own distilling. I have however thought it might be interesting to get one of those tiny barrels and fill it with new make or maybe moonshine. 😃

Can I just use Corn flour (not corn starch) instead of buying a mill & grinding ?
