It's come to my attention that this doesn't seem to be working for some people recently. I don't know what's going on and I've been testing my setup to see what's wrong. I too have been unable to get it working of late. I'm working on a solution and will replace this pinned comment with it when I figure it out. The method outlined in this video SHOULD work, but either iOS has been updated to prevent it from working, or there's an issue with the plugin.

If you don't want to keep re-entering your IP, I recommend using a dynamic IP service like No-IP. Takes a little bit of work to setup, but will make life easier in the long run by letting you always have a hostname that is tied to your IP even if it changes (depending on how you set it up)

Also, would you happen to know a way to make foo-upnp transcode to other codec rather than mp3? If I could set foobar to transcode my flacs to opus on the fly and serve them via upnp that would be money!

I might have found the reason for why it might not be working for some people:

For God knows why, Windows 10 (at least) sets your Network Profile to "Public" which "hides" your device from others on the network or something. You have to change that to "Private", which allows your PC to be seen and quote "used for printer and file sharing if you set it up". So enable that and it should spring to life basically instantly.

Hey in theory, could i run a virtual machine in the cloud, along with all of the music loaded onto that VM and then get the ip address link and shorten the url and then that way it wouldn't technically be on the personal home computer?

2:55 not sure if I'm doing it right - but when I opened the Media Servers tab - Foobar showed my local wi-fi network automatically. So after refreshing/restarting both pc and android Foobars - I could see the folder I setup in the pc foobar and I got the "monitoring" status in the Media Library/Media Folders tab. Also, I didn't need to search for my public IP - the foobar IP window already showed an IP address - I guess that's the address of my router, provided by my ISP ? Anyway: It's working ! My phone Foobar can see my music on pc. My pc foobar version is 1.6.8 and android foobar is 1.2.30, android v.9. Windows 10. /// Tyvm~! EDIT: Ok so what I did, I think, is that I'm now ONLY able to use my phone Foobar with my pc/foobar library within the local wi-fi network. While the title of your vid is "Play All Your Music Anywhere" = outside of the local network. Lol I'm a n00b.

What if I just want to lay in bed with my Pixel and play music stored on my Windows machine over a local network share? I can't seem to figure out how to get FB2K to access a folder on my desktop.

I tried following the instructions in the video. I'm Windows 11 based, Home version. The component in the video is not for the Windows OS. I installed foo_out_upnp MediaRerenderer Output. Shows in the component list as installed. Rebooted foobar200 and windows11 several times. The UPnP selection does not display in the Preferences / Tools list. Any ideas?
