Ureter jetting urine into the bladder
Показать описание
Ureter dumping urine into the bladder captured in real time via #ultrasound
Without this process, your nerves, muscles, & other tissues would eventually experience dysfunction.
Healthy kidneys filter about a half cup of blood every minute, removing wastes & extra water to make urine. The urine flows from the kidneys to the bladder through two thin tubes of muscle called ureters, one on each side of your bladder (one side pictured in this video). Your bladder stores urine. Your kidneys, ureters, & bladder are part of the urinary tract - these are the organs that are involved when someone gets a ‘UTI’.
The kidneys also remove excess acid that is produced by the cells of the body & help to maintain a healthy balance of water, salts, & minerals—such as sodium, calcium, phosphorus, & potassium—in the blood.
The most miraculous part of this entire system is that it is working for us whether we are asleep or awake - whether you’re aware of it or not! So if you were healthy enough to wake up & go pee this morning - don’t forget to thank your incredible urinary tract for always putting in work!! Wishing you a #MindfulMonday fam, lets make the intention to mirror this incredible work ethic this week!
