Hey, that was a totally natural conversation and definitely not a scripted infomercial. Gotta love the sincerity and integrity at Pensado's place.

Just watched this and went over to try it out and see what it would do to one of my tracks.
I gave it a bit of an unfair task by uploading an allready mastered track. It didn't mess it up! Just compressed it a bit more and made it 1.5dB louder.
So I guess it knows what it's doing after all.
I have to try it with unmastered track and with a track I know has problems.
If it can solve problems, than why the hell not.

Wish there were more interviews with the engineers from Landr. It'd be awesome to hear more about the AI components of the software. Interesting to imagine how deep learning will be involved in the future of sound engineering.

Don't want to rain on the parade but I use "Lurssen Mastering Console", where I can use various presets and tweak them in real time. Does the job.

Landr bashers have no clue what their talking about. If you start with a great mix landr will give you back an excellent master that you could use for release or it will give you a consistent representation of how your mix may sound mastered by an engineer. For those who can't afford quality mastering landr is fantastic. I've compared it to numerous mastering services and it is much better and very consistent. Also it has gotten so much better year after year so I suggest givimg it another try

Instead of bashing the site people should give them honest criticism and ways to make it better. Because obviously they do have users.

Herb and Dave, thank you for everything you've shared about your relationship, the business and for the stories, camaraderie and insider info that was once upon a time was the driving force behind your show.

I may stop by every once in a while to see if things have changed, but as of recently I've been slowly coming to the conclusion to not watch anymore. I can't trust your gear or even mixing advice because it's been beyond clear for quite some time that you push products because a company gives you money to do so, not because of any authentic connection between you and the gear or even the process. These things may coincide at times, but the appearance of it in your show is often that of an appalling group of sell-outs. I feel strange even typing that last sentence because I've seen the show really shine and be original, sincere, heartwarming, interesting and special. That to me is an indication of how far you've fallen and how far I must go to get away from you before you poison my mind with the attitudes that inform your actions.

I would elaborate in details what is in plain sight for anyone to see, but I don't think that would serve either of you - in the state you appear to be in you would likely counter any information I would offer by concealing and continuing to take the dive anyway. So I'd rather make an appeal for the both of you to re-examine your actions and your trajectory before you lose something very valuable - you may be making the bucks now because sponsors are signing up, but if you do not change course your viewership will eventually decay as your show decays, and then your sponsors will decay as well.

A few times in the show I heard Herb speak very eloquently about the importance of money, and I agree wholeheartedly with that importance. That being said, it's of secondary importance - it's an effect created by generating value. Money doesn't have any intrinsic value - it only represents it. If you allow something that doesn't have intrinsic value to drive your choices in an endeavor to create something of intrinsic value that people will give you their money for then you're misguided. If you start letting money drive your choices what you begin creating is something that doesn't have any intrinsic value - because the creation process itself is being driven by something that has no intrinsic value. And why would anyone want to waste their time - let alone their money - at a place of no intrinsic value? I sure don't, but that's the type of place Pensado's Place is becoming...so I'm leaving.

Unsubscribe.

Hmmm...i tryed LANDR...when i got back the result i emulated the result and all i ended up doing to emulate it was to put a L2 on the master with about 3-4db of reduction. I checked it with 3 different spectrum analyzers, i ran it thru the EQ on Izotope that lets you take a snapshot of the frequencies..they were exactly the same. One thing i did feel tho was a sence of closure to the song when i got it back..because it was done by someone/something else than myself and i recieved a file ...you know? Felt a bit like a placebo. I really prefer to send it to a live mastering engineer. But what i do like about LANDR is that it opens up new people to the art of mastering and they might discover that they can benefit from sending their tracks to a mastering engineer rather than doing it by themselves if they do not feel comfy mastering by their own. It's like a gateway.

Hey Dave / Pensados Place. You are pretty much the frontface of LANDR. I really trusted your opinion, but lately LANDR went down hill. Doubled prices (Mastering and Distribution) seperate. Content-ID basically doesnt work. I'm really disapointed in this... No Costumer service.

My audio engineering prof worked for this company and specifically told us that it was a scam.

I love all things Pensado. But in this video, it becomes clear that he's been mixing this pop/tech/dance stuff so long he has developed a warped sense of what "drums" are. I don't hear a drum anywhere in that snippet he's working with. You might call it beats, or samples, or whatever other the heck, but nary a drum to be found.

LANDR: because screw your education costs and dreams of becoming a Mastering Engineer.

Future LANDR: sorry we also replaced mix engineers...oops.
