This video is a highlight of what’s become one of my favorite DCC/Sound locomotives.

Such a cool little locomotive! I can’t believe how small it is next to the Dash 9! I knew it was small, but wow. And I don’t remember another die cast locomotive. At least not recently. I bet that is a stout little guy. Thanks for sharing!

Thats a great loco, sounded amazing, a lot of little features on there. Center cabs are cool. Check out my shirt tomorrow at 3, I found one rusting away, didn't know if it was a 44 tonner or 65, judging by this model I believe it's a 65 tonner.. awesome model mark 👍

Nice video, thanks for posting. I received mine last week, and was annoyed at the engine sounds cutting off all the time, thanks for the advice on changing the CV, it worked. Upon removing my loco from the packaging, I noticed that 2 of the marker lights were missing. Luckily, they were in the package floating around inside. The marker lights are VERY Delicate! They are mounted on a very thin translucent rod, so I glued them back on carefully. The window shade detail items to be applied, were a disappointment because there were no pins or holes to mount them. I had to carefully glue them on above the windows. Ok, with all of this great detail, where are the engineers? This locomotive is a very powerful, smooth runner, it can really crawl. It is actually very small compared to other HO diesel locomotives, almost looks narrow gauge, I wondered about the actual scale size? Yes, it has many sounds, but they left out the "Coupler Crash" while putting something like "Cab Door" that I rarely would use...I want to set it up so that when I press "Horn" on my controller, the horn sound will play. Presently, you get horn with Function 3, 4, & 5, and they are good, but only sound after releasing the button, on my NCE system, not during, I hope to correct that somehow. On my layout I have Dual Rail (narrow gauge & standard). This locomotive don't like the reduced size rail, because the wheel flanges are a bit large and they hit the rail spikes... I like that it is die-cast, and with the traction tires, it can pull the paint off the wall. It's a great little Locomotive all in all, but you may want to tailor it to fit your needs.

Very cool little thing. I like seeing the unusual stuff you come across. Does the manual talk about drawbar pull? I *think* that's how they measure it. Take care - Bill.

By chance what cv did you change to fix the sound cutting off. Also fun little fact i have had the privilege to be part of the lrauss maffei 9010's restoration at Niles Canyon Railway result in me driving her on the test run we did a month or 2 ago.

Rather unimpressed with this thing....

- Neither I nor any of my buddies can program it. We have Lenz, ESU, Roco systems. Manual says: Buy a PIKO controller. Surely, not.

- The US version -also - has the unneccesary Euro short coupling system hidden underneath. This means - Kadee Euro couplers only! No scale heads! Hello, this is 2023!
