The best methodology for exiting a trade is to do so when you would enter a counter trade. Profit targets are always good but you need to recognize when your criteria for an entry into the opposite direction has been triggered. That's when you need to be exiting your current position.

The day I told myself I will always leave money on the table, things improved immensely for me. The more you let it breathe.... the more you will lose if it reverses. The less room you give it, the less likely you are to get that 5 to 1 home run.

Since this is a game of consistency, I focus on the base hits and let a small chunk run on each trade

I usually split my position: i target 1:4/1:5 rr. The first profit is 1:1 rr, so that i can still have a stop loss and can target a big move
