The motive behind shootings is that people are deeply mentally disturbed and there needs to be more resources and mental facilities, along with societal changes that are contributing to this. Certainly we have a gun issue in America, but it's obvious a sufficiently motivated person can do the same amount of evil anywhere. Maybe we should try to cure the horribly deranged and completely selfish mentality that spawns these incidents. That being said, we really should try to be better parents and mentors to some of these kids because they are very lost.
