This segment of CUNY TV's magazine show on Latino culture in New York was nominated for a 2012 New York Emmy award in the Historical/Cultural: Program Feature/Segment category.

A profile of Radio Jarocho, a group of musicians and dancers who have devoted themselves to recreating the tradition of the "fandangos" in New York City. Fandangos are parties held around a wooden platform where the sounds of the "zapateado" (foot tapping) and the "jaranas" (a kind of guitar) take viewers to Southern Veracruz, Mexico.
